About the position

The Sr. Technical Project Manager, Security at BD will lead and manage a variety of security initiatives within the Dispensing R&D organization. This role involves overseeing multiple projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within scope while integrating into an agile planning framework. The position requires strong communication and project management skills, particularly in technology-based initiatives, and aims to operationalize secure engineering practices within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, lead, and drive the execution of large, complex, multi-organizational initiatives.
  • Create organization and structure from ambiguity.
  • Manage and track security-related deliverables to completion.
  • Identify project risks early and pursue mitigations aggressively.
  • Guide and track the integration of security standard methodologies into product planning and development processes.
  • Manage ongoing STIG reviews, POA&Ms, and security vulnerabilities.
  • Create and run dashboards in JIRA, TFS, and other tools to track progress and provide clarity for stakeholders.
  • Report regular status updates to the executive leadership team.
  • Promote standard methodologies for security operations and cultivate a community of practice for secure engineering.
  • Guide software development teams on agile and lean principles.
  • Lead retrospectives to solicit feedback and promote continuous improvement.
  • Remove impediments and aid in early identification and communication of risks and issues.
  • Facilitate meetings and distribute minutes to project team members.
  • Coordinate the release of new software versions to production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of proven experience in an Agile software development organization.
  • 1-3 years of leadership experience in secure engineering operations.
  • Experience with implementation of STIGs and PoA&Ms required.
  • Experience with software development in a regulated field preferred.
