About the position

The Senior Technical Support Engineer for Network Operating Systems at Celestica is a critical role within the Hardware Platform Solutions team, focusing on troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to networking, storage, and server software, particularly with SONiC. This position requires extensive experience in network engineering and customer interaction, as the engineer will engage with clients to understand their network configurations and provide solutions. The role also involves pre-sales support and the creation of technical documentation, making it essential for the candidate to have a deep understanding of networking protocols and architectures.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve customer technical issues related to networking, storage, and server software.
• Engage with customers to understand their network topology and provide suggestions and solutions.
• Participate in pre-sales activities to assist Sales Engineers and Business Development teams.
• Author test cases using Python/Go for internal quality assurance activities.
• Create technical documentation such as Application Notes, FAQs, and Troubleshooting Guides.
• Work on a rotation basis during weekends, holidays, and off-business hours to align with North America and Europe working hours.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience as a Network Engineer handling switch and router products.
• Experience with SONiC network operating system and FRR stack.
• Proficiency in designing, configuring, troubleshooting, and optimizing network hardware and topologies.
• Deep understanding of networking concepts, architecture, and protocols including BGP, OSPF, and others.
• Proficiency in Linux and experience with C and scripting languages like Python/Go.
• Direct customer interface experience and ability to write technical documentation.

• CCIE or equivalent certification is a major plus.
