About the position

The Senior Technical Support Engineer at Beckman Coulter, Inc. is responsible for providing expert technical support for specific products, including the Multisizer, Vi-CELL BLU, Z-series, LS 13320, and LS 13320 XR. This role involves direct interaction with field service engineers and global technical support teams, ensuring timely resolution of escalated technical issues and contributing to product design improvements. The engineer will also lead initiatives for new product support and documentation, ensuring that service and training needs are met effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a global expert on the Multisizer, Vi-CELL BLU, Z-series, LS 13320, and LS 13320 XR products.
  • Answer hotline inquiries at least 90% of the time for the North America region.
  • Respond to technical emails from regions including EU, China, Japan, South East Asia, Latin America, and Australia.
  • Take ownership of technical escalated sites for the Americas and support regional technical support teams with open escalations globally.
  • Manage product line escalations related to the specified products.
  • Collaborate with the post market surveillance team to identify and prioritize emerging issues.
  • Work with engineering on design updates and create documentation for field implementation of fixes.
  • Lead service and support for new products being developed, ensuring proper planning and documentation for servicing, training, and customer support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (foreign education equivalent accepted).
  • Two (2) years of experience in technical support, field service, or a related occupation.
  • Experience in troubleshooting fluidic, electronic, mechanical, and networking systems on complex products.
  • Experience with product launches, including particle counting, particle characterization, flow cytometry, hematology, or automation equipment.
  • Experience leading technical escalations and organizing assistance from various teams.
  • Ability to create action plans for on-site failure resolution.
  • Experience in inputting design and test methods for service procedure verifications.
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers with technical expertise.
