About the position

As a Senior Technical Writer/Documentation Specialist specializing in systems integration, you will play a crucial role in creating and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation for our in-store retail media platforms. Your expertise will ensure that Quad's systems integration documentation is clear, detailed, and aligned with industry standards. This position is essential for ensuring that all technical documentation meets the needs of both internal teams and external clients, facilitating a better understanding of our products and services. In this role, you will develop and maintain a variety of technical documents, including how-to guides, test reports, certification documents, user manuals, installation guides, and service manuals for both hardware and software products. You will collaborate with various departments to gather necessary information, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and complete. Your ability to partner closely with engineers, project managers, and other resources will be vital in translating complex technical specifications into user-friendly documentation. You will manage documentation projects from inception to delivery, prioritizing tasks and coordinating with multiple teams to meet project deadlines. Establishing and upholding documentation standards, templates, and style guides will be part of your responsibilities to ensure consistency across all materials. Additionally, you will conduct reviews, perform updates, and maintain iterations of existing documentation to reflect any changes or updates in the systems. Your role will also involve assisting in the development of training materials for internal teams and clients, utilizing diverse media formats such as print, digital, and video to enhance the accessibility and understanding of documentation. Staying updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in technical writing and documentation will be essential for your success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation such as technical how-to guides, test/assessment reports, certification documents, standards/templates, user manuals, installation guides, and service manuals for Quad's systems including hardware and software products.
  • Collaborate cross-departmentally to gather information, ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation.
  • Partner closely with engineers, project managers, and other Quad resources to comprehend technical specifications and translate this into user-friendly documentation.
  • Manage documentation projects from inception to delivery, prioritizing tasks and coordinating with multiple teams to meet project deadlines.
  • Establish and uphold documentation standards, templates, and style guides to ensure consistency across all materials.
  • Conduct reviews, perform updates, and maintain iterations of existing documentation to reflect changes and updates.
  • Assist in training materials development for internal teams and clients.
  • Utilize diverse media formats, including print, digital, and video, to enhance the accessibility and understanding of documentation.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in technical writing and documentation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in technical writing or documentation specialist role, with an understanding of systems integration principles and practices.
  • Strong technical foundation with the ability to understand and articulate complex hardware and software solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to decipher and communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Experience in managing multiple documentation projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in documentation tools such as MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Acrobat, MS Office, and familiarity with HTML/CSS.
