About the position

As a Senior Technical Writer at First American, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the developer experience through exceptional documentation. Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate with product delivery squads to create high-quality technical documentation that enables developers to effectively utilize the tools provided. This includes translating complex concepts into clear, concise, and developer-facing documentation such as conceptual guides, reference materials, release notes, and other learning resources. You will be instrumental in growing the technical writing practice and content strategy across various product delivery teams within a large product organization. In this role, you will define, coach, and implement best practices, operating procedures, and tools for developer documentation and internal process documentation. You will plan and work with team members to maintain high-quality API and SDK documentation that is accurate, discoverable, relevant, usable, and well-organized. Identifying documentation gaps and executing changes to reduce process errors, improve results, and create value will be key aspects of your responsibilities. You will manage a library of technical documentation, optimizing and standardizing document formats, locations, styles, and change governance. Collaboration will be essential as you work with product delivery squads and customers to determine documentation needs.
