About the position

The Senior Technical Writer will provide essential technical writing support for documentation needs within the construction project planning and engineering departments at ASRC Federal Netcentric Technologies, LLC. This role focuses on ensuring that all materials are accurate, consistent, and meet organizational standards, while also conducting quality control and collaborating with engineering teams to refine project specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical writing support for documentation needs in the construction project planning and engineering departments.
  • Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure compliance with best practices and established formats.
  • Review and edit construction project deliverables, such as Statements of Work (SOW) and technical documentation, for accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to refine front-end specifications for projects.
  • Assist project teams in developing and documenting Courses of Action (COA) for various projects.
  • Support project planning and initiation through the development of technical project documents.
  • Prepare and coordinate document packages for USAF-specific project processes and milestones.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in applied science (Architectural/Engineering Technology, Drafting, Planning or related degree); relevant experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of five years experience related to construction planning, design, and/or execution.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and quality control principles in technical documentation for construction project management.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently without direct supervision.
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and summarize data and processes.
  • Competent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications.
  • Proficient English oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be a US citizen and possess or be able to obtain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.
  • Must maintain a valid US driver's license.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen.
  • Commitment to providing and maintaining a safe working environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management from an ABET-certified program.
  • Experience working in a military environment and familiarity with US Air Force Civil Engineering guidance, rules, and regulations.
