About the position

The Senior Technical Writer at Raft will play a crucial role in supporting the Cyber Operations Branch program office by adhering to the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and contributing to the development of deployable defensive cyber solutions. This position involves reviewing, planning, and evaluating network communications systems, providing documentation and project tracking, and offering strategic input on network communications planning. The ideal candidate will leverage their extensive experience to produce high-quality technical documentation that supports the mission of protecting and defending USSF mission systems.

Responsibilities

  • Review, plan, and evaluate network communications systems.
  • Provide documentation and project tracking management reporting.
  • Offer tactical and strategic input on overall network communications planning and related projects.
  • Collaborate within a cross-functional team to advocate for end-users.
  • Create and edit technical documents, including software development release notes and configuration management documentation.

Requirements

  • Ten plus years' experience as a Technical Writer.
  • Experience writing software development release notes and technical document creation.
  • Ability to collaborate within a cross-functional team and eagerness to learn.
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and empathy.
  • Solid communication skills.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree.

Nice-to-haves

  • A Top Secret (TS) security clearance (with SCI and SAP eligibility) is highly desired.
  • SAFe for Teams Certification.
  • Familiarity with Sketch, FIGMA, InVision, Visio, Docusaurus, Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Initial understanding of Agile methodologies and experience in an Agile environment.
  • Foundational understanding of Software Development Lifecycle and activities.
  • Involvement in delivering user experience interactions.
  • Relevant DoD and/or Industry work experience in Space Systems Command.
  • Experience with Cyber Operations Branch (SSC/SZYO) program office.
