About the position

The position involves writing and editing technical materials such as equipment manuals and operating instructions. The role requires a comprehensive knowledge of technical documentation and the ability to lead major technology assignments. The individual will function as a technical expert across multiple projects and may supervise others. A Bachelor's Degree and 6-12 years of experience, along with an active Secret Federal DoD Clearance, are required.

Responsibilities

  • Write technical documents, including equipment manuals and maintenance instructions.
  • Edit technical documents to ensure grammatical correctness and formatting excellence.
  • Assist in layout work for technical materials.
  • Remove workload from Software Developers, Scrum Masters, and Testers by managing documentation tasks.
  • Follow Agile processes and work with Scrum teams.
  • Manage document identifiers from Configuration Management (CM).
  • Operate Team Foundation Server to store and manage documents.
  • Create baseline templates for technical document work.
  • Coordinate document reviews with Quality Assurance (QA) and correct defects as indicated.
  • Coordinate with Information Assurance before document deliveries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • 6-12 years of experience in technical writing or related fields.
  • Active Secret Federal DoD Clearance or eligibility for one.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
  • Highly responsible and team-oriented individual with a strong work ethic.
  • 4+ years of related technical experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Technical certifications in relevant fields.
  • Experience with RCAS (Relevant Current and Advanced Systems).
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 standards.
  • Ability to apply advanced principles and contribute to innovative ideas.
  • Experience solving complicated problems creatively.
