About the position

The Senior Technician is responsible for the maintenance, inspections, and repairs of various heavy equipment and SHM vehicles, ensuring operational efficiency and safety. This role involves troubleshooting, testing, and replacing components, as well as managing work orders through maintenance software. The technician must be equipped with their own tools and be available for overtime to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair all SHM vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Troubleshoot, test, repair, replace, remove, and install heavy equipment and vehicle components.
• Conduct thorough assessments prior to starting a job, including acknowledging the budgeted time and timeframe for completion.
• Source parts as required for repairs.
• Monitor and complete work order requests via maintenance software.
• Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training.
• Report all accidents, injuries, spills, and near misses immediately.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Technical school training preferred.
• 10 years experience preferred.
• ABYC and/or manufacturer certifications preferred.
• Ability to ascend and descend a ladder.
• Must carry own tools.
• Ability to work in confined spaces.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Basic boat handling skills preferred.
• Experience with both gas and diesel engines preferred.
