About the position

The Senior Technology Consultant - Cybersecurity role is a pivotal position within the Industry Solutions Delivery (ISD) Engineering & Architecture Group (EAG) at Microsoft. This group is a global consulting and engineering organization that focuses on delivering innovative solutions to complex customer problems. The position is designed for individuals who are passionate about cybersecurity and are eager to work closely with customers to develop tailored solutions that address their unique challenges. As a key leader in the largest Security team within the Industry Solutions Organization, you will be responsible for driving early-stage deliveries and enhancing ISD's technical capabilities. This role emphasizes a customer-centric approach, where understanding customer needs and delivering exceptional service is paramount. In this position, you will collaborate with various internal stakeholders, including Solution Architects and Consulting Account Executives, during the pre-sale process. Your role will involve understanding business requirements, providing technical input, and shaping proposals to meet customer needs. You will also lead technical delivery efforts, ensuring that projects are executed effectively and align with customer expectations. This includes managing project planning, identifying risks, and communicating the business value of proposed solutions. The role also encompasses intellectual property management, where you will act as an ambassador for the consumption of existing IP and contribute to the continuous improvement of Industry Solutions offerings. You will identify opportunities for business development, driving the adoption of Microsoft technologies and facilitating innovation within the team. Additionally, you will be expected to stay current with new technologies and industry trends, obtaining relevant certifications and leading training sessions to share knowledge with team members. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders in the pre-sale process by understanding business requirements and providing industry and technical input.
  • Support drafting proposals and/or statement of work (SOW).
  • Provide input on staffing and skill requirements for delivery to Resource Deployment, Technical Delivery Managers (TDMs), and/or Project Managers.
  • Follow the capacity process outlined by the Resource, Insights, Capacity, and Capability (RICC) team.
  • Lead meetings with customers/partners to understand business needs.
  • Map customer/partner requirements to the adoption and optimization of Microsoft technology solutions.
  • Participate in project planning and develop project documents by identifying risks and dependencies.
  • Communicate the business value of planned solutions to customers/partners.
  • Identify technical and business risks in programs and propose mitigations.
  • Assist project managers/architects in preparing for steering committee meetings by developing artifacts.
  • Manage schedules and communicate with project leads.
  • Generate and deliver Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
  • Implement solutions and provide oversight and leadership on workstreams across domains while adhering to Industry Solutions processes.
  • Manage escalations, analyze situations, and coordinate appropriate resources to resolve issues.
  • Proactively manage executive-level customer/partner/stakeholder relationships to improve satisfaction and experience.
  • Act as an ambassador in the consumption of intellectual property (IP) and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Identify opportunities to expand or accelerate the adoption of cloud and Microsoft technologies.
  • Facilitate team members to scale the business with existing customers by articulating value propositions.
  • Learn new technologies or services based on business demands and industry trends.
  • Obtain relevant accreditations and certifications as advised by domain leadership team.
  • Mentor team members and act as a technical advisor for stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in cybersecurity, particularly in delivery and/or operations capacity.
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to empathize with customer needs and business outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in project management and leading technical delivery efforts.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate technical and business risks in programs.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft technologies and cloud solutions.
