About the position

The Senior Technology Solutions Engineer at McKinstry plays a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency, comfort, sustainability, and lifespan of buildings through technical support and strategic consulting. This position involves overseeing Building Automation Systems (BAS) performance, managing contractors, and leveraging analytics to optimize system operations, ultimately contributing to a thriving planet by addressing climate and energy challenges.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for BAS performance issues.
• Oversee BAS contractors and client technicians for BAS-related workflows.
• Manage project oversight for system integration projects.
• Leverage BAS analytics to identify and optimize system operations to reduce energy consumption.
• Support project management efforts, including budgeting, scoping, and resource planning.
• Act as a key point of contact for clients, assisting them in managing their internal projects and leading McKinstry-generated work.

Requirements

• Mechanical or Electrical engineering degree or equivalent work experience in the built environment.
• 5-7+ years of BAS/controls experience, especially in programming, integration, and energy management.
• Excellent project management and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.
• Understanding of building efficiency and basic design principles and standards.
• Familiarity with IT troubleshooting in support of BAS networks.
• Certification or experience in AX, N4, Niagara, Distech, and BACnet is strongly preferred.
