About the position

We are looking for a Senior Telecom Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative work environment and enjoys working closely with clients in the Data Center market. This position will involve working on various projects as assigned by a Department Manager or Lead Engineer, playing a crucial role in the entire design process. This includes preliminary assessments, concept creation, design, problem resolution, drawing and specification production, and ensuring customer and vendor accessibility. The Telecommunication Engineer will be expected to manage several concurrent projects and will be recognized as the technical expert on specialized designs. As a Senior Telecom Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical design of systems for building projects, which encompass security, fire alarm, voice, data, audio/visual, and other low voltage systems. Your responsibilities will include the preparation of engineering drawings and specifications, conducting site visits, reviewing technical documents, maintaining occasional customer contact, and integrating Owner specific installation requirements with site specific applications. You will also have the opportunity to learn from more senior team leaders and will be mentored throughout your role.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical design of systems for building projects including security, fire alarm, voice, data, audio/visual, and other low voltage systems.
  • Prepare engineering drawings and specifications for various projects.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and conditions.
  • Review technical documents to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
  • Maintain occasional customer contact to discuss project needs and updates.
  • Integrate Owner specific installation requirements with site specific applications.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and clients as necessary.

Requirements

  • Technical or Associates Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience actively designing low voltage and communication systems for buildings.
  • Familiarity and demonstrated knowledge of ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards.
  • Experience with Revit software.
  • Self-motivation to coordinate with other disciplines and clients as necessary.

Nice-to-haves

  • Credentials as an RCDD or working towards this title.
  • Electrical Engineering degree, or related.
