About the position

The Senior Territory Manager at Actelion Pharmaceuticals, a member of Johnson & Johnson, is responsible for developing and maintaining business relationships within the pulmonary hypertension market. This role focuses on driving sales through strategic planning, customer engagement, and collaboration with healthcare professionals, while managing territory budgets and executing business plans.

Responsibilities

  • Develops new business and maintains existing business by building and sustaining strong, trusting relationships with customers and prospects
  • Plans and organizes activities and resources to consistently meet or exceed sales goals
  • Conducts speaker programs and educational symposia
  • Develops business with targeted physicians including pulmonologists, rheumatologists, and cardiologists
  • Provides necessary information to customers including physicians, NPs, PAs, etc. to improve their knowledge of promoted products
  • Prepares and executes Business Plan for targeted customer segments
  • Manages territory budget
  • Works well with team members including KAL, DM, BD, MSL, SAM, TAM, and PAH Pathways counselors
  • Utilizes all resources to monitor and manage business frequently

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree
  • Valid driver's license in one of the 50 states
  • 10 years of field sales experience in the pharmaceuticals industry including five years of specialty sales in either cardiovascular, rheumatologic, or pulmonary disease states
  • Holds or has held one developmental role and has made impact at a Regional, BU or National level
  • Has completed 9 total credit hours of any applicable CMR Institute courses or equivalent coursework in related field
  • Working knowledge of managed care

Nice-to-haves

  • Specialty sales experience in either cardiovascular, rheumatologic, or pulmonary disease states
  • Working knowledge of hospital sales
  • Proven track record of high performance
  • Strong clinical knowledge
  • Solid business acumen
  • Solid MS Office computer skills
