About the position

The Test and Validation team is responsible for testing market-specific Infotainment and Connect systems and services in North America, covering test and validation activities throughout the development process of vehicle models and services. The Senior Test Automation Engineer Infotainment & Connect plays a crucial role in ensuring timely resolution of all topics related to test automation activities, including test case implementation, test execution, and reporting. This position requires collaboration with a team of Test Engineers and suppliers, as well as acting as the main contact for Porsche Engineering Services US regarding specific technical projects that involve a set of Porsche models. The role necessitates strong coordination skills and staying updated with the latest technology in test automation. In this position, the Senior Test Automation Engineer will analyze requirement documents, conceive, implement, and maintain test cases using automation tools. They will be responsible for integrating new test devices and testing technologies, setting up the test automation execution environment, and providing training for test engineers. The role also involves planning, coordinating, and executing test runs while tracking project targets, evaluating and documenting test results, and providing feedback to the involved development departments. Additionally, the engineer will assist in analyzing defect images, support test management activities, and align with test managers regarding development milestones and team performance. The Senior Test Automation Engineer will prepare and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure test automation activities and escalate critical blockers and issues to test managers and line managers. They will also support new team members and suppliers during the onboarding process, working closely with international test automation teams to share project information and enhance process improvements. Maintaining records of test activities in systems like Atlassian Jira and Confluence and providing monthly reports to test managers is also a key responsibility of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze requirement documents and implement test cases in automation tools.

  • Support test management activities, including planning and coordination of qualifications.
  • Align with test managers regarding development milestones and team performance.
  • Prepare and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) for test automation activities.
  • Support new team members and suppliers during the onboarding process.
  • Collaborate with international test automation teams to share project information and improve processes.
  • Ensure records of test activities in systems like Atlassian Jira and Confluence and provide monthly reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Informatics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 5 years of automotive industry experience in an engineering or related role.
  • Good skills in at least one programming language, preferably Python.
  • Experience in connectivity and infotainment systems, with an understanding of IT infrastructure and software architecture.
  • Strong communication skills to present complex subjects to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience with agile software testing projects and processes.
  • Experience with the Atlassian tool chain.
  • ISTQB certification.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range between $130,000 and $160,000 per year.
