About the position

The Senior Software Test Engineer at Medtronic plays a crucial role in enhancing the reliability and robustness of medical devices, specifically focusing on software and firmware for diabetes management products. This position involves leading technical innovation and problem-solving efforts to improve healthcare access and equity, contributing to the company's mission of restoring health and extending life. The role requires collaboration with various teams to ensure the successful implementation of system improvements and the development of test tools and scripts.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, tests, documents, debugs, and implements applications, automation framework components, software tools, and utilities.
• Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency.
• Interfaces with customers, suppliers, application users, and other technical and support personnel.
• May work across a variety of software lifecycle activities as determined by program needs.
• Develops test tools and scripts designed to test and detect problems in software applications and systems.
• Works with development teams to analyze software defects, determine verification methods, and implement automation system improvements.
• Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, processes, or testing requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related Engineering or Sciences field and 4+ years of experience, or 2+ years of experience with a master's degree.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript, C/C++.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented development approach and software design patterns.
• Ability to become familiar with unknown codebase in a reasonable time.
• Fluency in test automation.
• Proficiency in Python.
