About the position

Raytheon is currently seeking a test equipment design engineer to join the Sensor Test Solutions (STS) Department within Test Equipment Engineering (TEE). This is an excellent position for engineers with a background in digital, analog, RF, or power test equipment design and a desire to apply those skills to developing, building, and integrating advanced test platforms and architectures. You will be joining a diverse project team supporting the development of test solutions for radar, sonar, communication, missile, combat control systems, subsystems and components for various programs within Raytheon. These products involve Analog, RF, Microwave, Acoustic, High Power, and Digital Electronic technologies along with embedded software and firmware, signal processing, and VHDL designs. STS Engineers are involved from the beginning of test solution design process through the verification and final system sell-off. Typical test solutions include simulation/stimulation and data acquisition test capabilities for verifying a product's functional performance. These capabilities may encompass Hardware-In-the-Loop simulators, custom Automatic Test Equipment (ATE), Commercial ATE, High Power, Mixed-Signal, Digital and Environmental Stress Screening systems, mechanical holding fixtures, adapters, and interface cabling and harnessing. In this role, you will develop test hardware, software, and/or firmware through its development cycle, from requirements definition through deployment at manufacturing or customer facilities. These test capabilities may span disciplines (Power, RF, Analog, Digital) and domains (hardware, software, firmware). You will work with Hardware Design and Operations teams to ensure the test equipment required for production meets standards for manufacturing. Additionally, you will actively identify test readiness issues and optimizations through the development lifecycle, guide mechanical engineering and/or suppliers through test adapter design activities, and lead a small team to meet established project budget, schedule, and performance commitments. Engaging in personal technical growth and encouraging technical growth in peers and junior engineers is also a key aspect of this position.
