About the position

The Senior Systems Test Engineer for Ejection Seating at Collins Aerospace plays a critical role in supporting the development lifecycle of ejection seat systems, ensuring safety and performance for military and government customers. This position involves interpreting test requirements, developing test procedures, and collaborating with engineers to ensure successful testing and data collection. The engineer will work independently and as part of a team to drive issues to root cause and improve testing processes, contributing to the modernization of ejection seat systems.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret test requirements and develop test procedures.
  • Identify and document test practices.
  • Ensure tests are conducted according to approved plans and safety procedures.
  • Act as a liaison between systems engineers and seat designers during testing.
  • Collect, document, and report test results accurately.
  • Collaborate on design and modification of test fixtures and articles.
  • Participate in peer reviews throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Plan, conduct, and document testing results.
  • Analyze data to identify root causes of issues.
  • Research and evaluate facility processes to improve data collection.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM field and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 3 years of experience, or 9 years of relevant experience without a degree.
  • Experience executing product testing on physical assets for performance and environmental testing.
  • Strong analytical skills with knowledge of physics and dynamics.
  • Experience coordinating technical projects and work teams.
  • Ability to present technical information to internal and external customers.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with aircraft cockpit and crew systems.
  • Experience working on military programs.
