About the position

The Senior Test Engineer at Rauland will play a crucial role in expanding the test team, focusing on testing networking environments, performance testing of networked systems, and human factors testing. This position involves participating in test planning and design activities, mentoring junior engineers, and managing day-to-day testing activities while developing a deeper understanding of test methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all assigned tasks and report on work performed by entry-level engineers and technicians.
  • Execute tests and instructions independently while providing guidance to junior-level test engineers and technicians.
  • Capture and preserve test observations independently.
  • Perform standard computations or analysis on data and develop towards more advanced computations and analysis.
  • Assign tasks to and coordinate work with entry-level engineers and technicians.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians on basic test principles and methods.
  • Assist with determining test schedules.
  • Manage day-to-day activities independently.
  • Perform basic analysis of requirements and provide feedback on requirements development.
  • Apply troubleshooting and problem-solving skills and basic understanding of root cause analysis.
  • Generate test plan and reporting documents with guidance.
  • Write and design test cases with minimal guidance and review test cases created by junior level engineers.
  • Review objective evidence captured by entry-level test engineers and technicians.
  • Develop a deeper understanding of test methodologies.
  • Apply basic understanding of tool validation methods and perform tool validation with minimal guidance.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in Engineering, Mathematics, Science, or a 4-year degree with related direct experience.
  • 5 to 7 years of related experience.
  • Detail-oriented and able to follow instructions.
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office & MS Excel.
  • Basic use of MS Project.
  • Basic understanding of 21 CFR Part 820 and ISO 13485.
  • General understanding of working in a regulated industry, preferably in the medical device industry or similar controlled industry.
  • Unquestionable integrity.

Nice-to-haves

  • Server and network administration, configuration, working with networked devices, various networking protocols and topologies.
  • Network performance, load testing, monitoring, capturing and evaluation of packets.
  • Human Factors testing and performance of products.
  • Comfortable with wiring and configuring systems to specifications.
  • Comfortable to run manual testing.
  • Enterprise system configuration and testing highly desired.
  • Cloud testing.
  • Wireless testing such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and others.
  • Networking and computer maintenance certifications.
  • Network security and security configurations.
