About the position
The Senior Test Engineer at Chugach Government Solutions (CGS) plays a crucial role in supporting the research, development, test, and evaluation (T&E) of security systems for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This position is responsible for evaluating the holistic system and understanding how changes impact system operation and performance. The role emphasizes leadership in test planning and execution, as well as collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance technologies throughout the developmental lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate systems following government and industry-level guidance and best practices.
- Review vendor Qualification Data Packages (QDP's) and system design documentation.
- Lead the establishment of developmental system architecture and initial configuration baselines.
- Perform configuration audits and change management for systems entering test.
- Conduct systems engineering critical functions analysis and gap analysis.
- Support the configuration control board process.
- Serve as the point of contact for technology vendors regarding system engineering and configuration management.
- Write and conduct reviews of technical documentation.
- Mentor and support junior engineers.
- Interact directly with clients, demonstrating strong communication skills.
Requirements
- Experience leading test engineers in test planning and execution methodology.
- Familiarity with DoD and/or DHS test and evaluation policies and documentation.
- Ability to perform engineering design reviews and engage with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with ANSI/EIA 649C, INCOSE Systems Engineering Handbook, and ISO 10007 best practices.
