Highmark Health is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to join our agile scrum team in Augusta, Maine. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality of our software products, which are designed to build scalable applications across all digital channels to serve our customers effectively. The Senior Test Engineer will take a comprehensive approach to software quality, focusing on both the technical aspects and the customer experience. This position involves active participation in the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from idea generation and business analysis to UX design and rigorous testing against industry standards for quality assurance, traceability, and compliance. The incumbent will be responsible for developing and executing test automation code as part of ongoing regression testing standards. This includes writing, executing, analyzing, and testing software products to ensure they meet the product vision and quality standards. The Senior Test Engineer will also mentor junior test engineers, providing guidance and resolving questions related to testing processes and standards. Additionally, the role requires participation in refining the Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CICD) process, conducting code reviews, and engaging in manual testing as necessary. As part of an agile work team, the Senior Test Engineer will participate in all scrum ceremonies, assist in sprint planning, and ensure that all required sprints are completed effectively. The role involves close collaboration with software engineers, product analysts, and other stakeholders to understand requirements for new or enhanced features. The incumbent will also be responsible for writing test case documents, test plan documents, and test results that adhere to SOC2 standards, performing peer reviews of testing artifacts, and acquiring or creating necessary test data for software quality assurance. The Senior Test Engineer will coordinate release activities and monitor work against production schedules, providing progress updates and reporting any issues or impediments to senior analysts or principals regularly. This position is office-based and may require occasional travel to various work sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive, along with a passion for user experience and improving usability.
