About the position

The Senior Test Engineer is responsible for providing testing expertise and support to ensure best practices in various testing methodologies, including usability, functional, integration, cyber security, user acceptance, and operational testing. This role involves all aspects of system verification, contributing to test planning and execution, and collaborating with developers and business analysts to identify and document test scenarios and cases. The engineer will also automate test scripts and report defects while participating in Agile ceremonies.

Responsibilities

• Provide testing expertise and support for various testing methodologies.
• Perform all aspects of system verification, including test planning, design, execution, and evaluation.
• Contribute to the development of a test plan in an operational environment and document results.
• Work with Developers and Business Analysts to identify test scenarios based on business requirements.
• Document test cases, user stories, and results in Jira and Confluence.
• Perform multiple forms of testing, including manual and automation.
• Automate test scripts using tools like Selenium IDE/TestNG, Apache Jmeter, and Postman.
• Report test defects and support production test efforts.
• Troubleshoot and mitigate issues and identified defects.
• Demonstrate work produced to internal team members and clients.
• Provide analytical skills and technical expertise to ensure application system designs meet user stories.
• Participate in all Agile ceremonies, including planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.
• Review and update system and sprint artifacts such as user stories, design documents, and test reports.

Requirements

• Strong interpersonal skills for collaborative and independent work.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven expertise in executing test plans and documenting results.
• Ability to understand integration points between functionalities.
• SQL knowledge is required.
• Experience testing SOAP and REST APIs is necessary.
• Hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Cucumber, SoapUI/Postman, and Apache Jmeter.
• Working knowledge of Jira and Confluence.
