About the position

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS), a premier provider to the US Department of Defense and allied nations, is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to join our Folsom, California team. The Senior Test Engineer is dynamic and spans both development and production testing. This role involves developing test plans and procedures, conducting testing to ensure that products are free of flaws and function as designed. This includes research and development (R&D) testing as well as MIL-STD environmental testing. The position also requires designing and integrating sophisticated test equipment, both hardware and software, and performing product testing that utilizes this test equipment. Additionally, the Senior Test Engineer supports the transition of test equipment to production and performs root cause investigations to determine improvements in product and process, recommending corrective actions as necessary. Collaboration with supplier representatives on quality problems is also a key aspect of this role, ensuring that effective corrective actions are implemented and contributing to supplier quality improvement programs. Responsibilities

  • Interacts with other engineering groups to define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret tests for products, systems, components, or modifications.
  • Participates in final system integration and validation to identify functional problems.
  • Defines internal quality control standards and the maintenance of reliability programs.
  • Creates, documents, and analyzes the most complex test cases and provides feedback and recommendations for product or design changes.
  • Ensures testing procedures are in compliance with any required industry specific standards.
  • Identifies chronic or systemic problems in testing and develops and implements improvements to process.
  • May coordinate with vendors or suppliers to modify or develop testing for components or other parts.

Requirements
