About the position

The Senior Tester/SME Software Quality Assurance role at Katmai involves providing software development support for the U.S. Census Bureau's 2026 Census Test requirements. The position focuses on delivering a robust IT solution that automates and streamlines recruitment and assessment processes, while also leading testing strategies and ensuring effective user acceptance testing.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a robust, integrated IT solution providing a FedRAMP SaaS cloud-based platform for automation and standardization of job applications and assessments.
• Provide an innovative front-end solution for recruiting, assessment, and onboarding processes.
• Lead the creation of test plans and test execution strategies.
• Assist with impact analysis on affected applications and coordinate testing and implementation with various teams.
• Assist with User Acceptance Testing and end-user training.
• Develop materials for and facilitate Business working group sessions.
• Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate resolution with Business and IT teams.
• Analyze requests for change, code, and test new functionality, and create technical design documents.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Seven plus (7+) years of Software Quality Assurance and Testing experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred; Master's degree with five (5) years' experience acceptable.
• Must obtain and maintain necessary USCB security access and/or background checks.
