About The Position

The Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist (TAS) in Oncology at Bristol Myers Squibb is a critical field-based role responsible for driving demand for BMS medicines within the oncology portfolio. The TAS engages with healthcare providers (HCPs) to deliver impactful customer experiences through scientific dialogue and collaboration, ensuring the safe and appropriate use of BMS products while achieving business performance objectives.

Requirements

  • Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience in healthcare sales, MSL, HCP, or nursing.
  • Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately to help physicians serve their patients.
  • Experience building and maintaining credibility with key customers and office staff.
  • Experience in Oncology is required.
  • Strong account management skills and proven sales performance track record.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with a positive team mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed assigned sales targets in a compliant manner.
  • Creates demand for BMS medicines by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for their use in appropriate patients.
  • Engages with and maintains a high level of scientific expertise in all assigned products and therapeutic areas.
  • Prepares and implements comprehensive territory and account plans.
  • Uses available tools to derive insights and inform call plans, providing feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrates scientific expertise in presenting information to HCPs and ensures medical accuracy during discussions.
  • Organizes external speaker programs and maintains expertise on emerging data for approved indications.
  • Collaborates with other field teams to ensure the best customer experience for HCPs.
  • Gathers and shares relevant insights internally to better serve customers.
  • Complies with all laws, regulations, and policies governing BMS conduct.
