About the position

The Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist (TAS) in Oncology at Bristol Myers Squibb plays a critical role in engaging healthcare providers (HCPs) to drive the adoption of BMS medicines. This field-based position focuses on delivering impactful customer experiences through scientific dialogue and collaboration, ensuring the safe and appropriate use of BMS products while achieving business performance objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed assigned sales targets.
  • Creates demand for BMS medicines by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for their use.
  • Maintains a high level of scientific expertise in all assigned products and therapeutic areas.
  • Prepares and implements comprehensive territory and account plans.
  • Uses available tools to derive insights and inform call plans, providing feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Conducts in-office presentations and organizes external speaker programs.
  • Engages real-time medical support to answer complex inquiries.
  • Collaborates with other field teams to enhance the customer experience.
  • Shares relevant insights internally to improve service to customers.
  • Complies with all laws, regulations, and policies governing BMS.

Requirements

  • Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology sales, MSL, HCP, or nursing.
  • Ability to communicate scientific data accurately to assist physicians.
  • Experience in Oncology is required.
  • Demonstrated account management skills and proven sales performance.
  • Strong selling and promotional skills with a track record of meeting goals.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with a positive team mindset.
