About the position

The Therapeutic Account Specialist (TAS) at Bristol Myers Squibb plays a critical role in engaging healthcare providers (HCPs) to drive demand for BMS medicines. This field-based position focuses on delivering a differentiated customer experience through scientific dialogue and collaboration with regional thought leaders and community-based physicians. The TAS is responsible for promoting approved indications of BMS products, maintaining scientific expertise, and ensuring compliance while achieving sales targets. The role emphasizes the importance of building strong professional relationships and understanding the patient care continuum.

Responsibilities

  • Promote approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed assigned sales targets.
  • Create demand for BMS medicines by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for their use.
  • Engage with HCPs through scientific dialogue and presentations, ensuring medical accuracy.
  • Organize external speaker programs and maintain a high level of expertise on emerging data.
  • Collaborate with other field teams to enhance the customer experience for HCPs.
  • Gather and share insights with internal stakeholders to improve service delivery.

Requirements

  • Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience in healthcare sales, MSL, HCP, or nursing.
  • Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately to assist physicians.
  • Experience in Oncology is required.
  • Demonstrated strong account management skills and proven sales performance.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with a positive team mindset.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with CE^3 tools for insights and call planning.
  • Familiarity with digital communication channels for HCP engagement.
