About the position

The Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist (TAS) in Oncology at Bristol Myers Squibb plays a critical role in engaging Health Care Providers (HCPs) to drive the adoption of BMS medicines. This field-based position focuses on building strong relationships with regional thought leaders and community-based physicians, ensuring a high-quality customer experience through scientific dialogue and collaboration. The TAS is responsible for promoting approved indications of BMS products, implementing territory plans, and maintaining scientific expertise to meet the needs of HCPs while achieving business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed assigned sales targets.
  • Creates demand for BMS medicines by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for their use.
  • Engages with HCPs to maintain a high level of scientific expertise in assigned products and therapeutic areas.
  • Prepares and implements comprehensive territory and account plans.
  • Uses available tools to derive insights and inform call plans, providing feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrates scientific expertise in presenting information to HCPs, ensuring medical accuracy.
  • Conducts in-office presentations and organizes external speaker programs.
  • Maintains expertise on emerging data for approved indications and engages medical support for complex inquiries.
  • Collaborates with other field teams to enhance the customer experience and shares relevant insights internally.

Requirements

  • Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience in healthcare sales, MSL, HCP, or nursing.
  • Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately to assist physicians.
  • Experience in building credibility with key customers and a customer-centric mindset.
  • Experience in oncology is preferred.
  • Strong account management skills and proven sales performance track record.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with a positive team mindset.
