About the position

The Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist at Bristol Myers Squibb plays a critical role in engaging Health Care Providers (HCPs) to drive the adoption of BMS medicines. This field-based position focuses on building strong professional relationships with regional thought leaders and community-based physicians, ensuring a differentiated customer experience through scientific dialogue and collaboration. The role emphasizes the safe and appropriate use of BMS products while achieving business performance objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed assigned sales targets.
  • Creates demand for BMS medicines by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for their use.
  • Maintains a high level of scientific expertise in all assigned products and therapeutic areas.
  • Prepares and implements comprehensive territory and account plans.
  • Uses available tools to derive insights and inform call plans.
  • Conducts in-office presentations and organizes external speaker programs.
  • Collaborates with other field teams to enhance the customer experience.
  • Gathers and shares relevant insights with internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience in healthcare sales, MSL, HCP, or nursing.
  • Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately to help physicians serve their patients.
  • Experience building credibility with key customers and office staff.
  • Strong account management skills and proven sales performance track record.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with a positive team mindset.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Dermatology is preferred.
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness and ability to connect with customers.
