About the position

The Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist (TAS) for Cardiovascular Community at Bristol Myers Squibb plays a critical role in engaging healthcare providers (HCPs) to drive the adoption of BMS medicines. This position focuses on delivering impactful customer experiences through scientific dialogue and collaboration, ensuring the safe and appropriate use of BMS products while achieving business performance objectives. The TAS is field-based, spending significant time with external customers to build strong professional relationships and credibility.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed assigned sales targets in a compliant manner.
  • Creates demand for BMS medicines by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for use in appropriate patients.
  • Maintains a high level of scientific expertise in all assigned products and therapeutic areas.
  • Prepares and implements comprehensive territory and account plans.
  • Uses available tools to derive insights and inform call plans, providing feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrates scientific expertise in presenting information to HCPs, ensuring medical accuracy.
  • Conducts in-office presentations and organizes external speaker programs.
  • Collaborates with other field teams to ensure the best customer experience for HCPs.
  • Gathers and shares relevant insights and information internally to better serve customers.

Requirements

  • Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience in healthcare sales, MSL, HCP, or nursing.
  • Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately to help physicians serve their patients.
  • Experience building and maintaining credibility with key customers and office staff.
  • Experience in cardiovascular preferred.
  • Strong account management skills and proven sales performance track record.
  • Ability to work effectively cross-functionally with a positive team mindset.
