About the position

The position involves working as part of a team at Oracle to build a cloud-native platform for Fusion Applications, focusing on transforming how Software Developers and DevOps engineers create cloud applications. The role encompasses all stages of the software development lifecycle, including coding, testing, and operational support, with a strong emphasis on using modern technologies such as Scala, Go, and Kubernetes. Candidates will be part of a diverse and motivated team, working primarily in a remote environment across multiple regions.

Responsibilities

  • Define and develop software for tasks associated with developing, designing, and debugging software applications or operating systems.
  • Take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures within the software engineering division.
  • Own applications by deploying and operating them, ensuring they are used effectively by customers.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related fields or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in software development.
  • Experience with Object-Oriented or Functional design and programming using Scala, Go, or Java.
  • Deep expertise in building applications using microservice architecture.
  • Experience building and working with REST APIs.
  • Experience with container-based deployment (Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Experience with source control (BitBucket, GIT, Maven, SVN).
  • Experience with continuous deployment tools (e.g., Teamcity, Jenkins).
  • Strong communication skills, including cross-team collaboration.
  • Self-driven, able to take ownership of complex features, and support junior engineers.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with cloud platforms and cloud-native app development.
  • Understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code technologies, such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Experience with Temporal.
  • Experience within a Linux-based environment.
  • Ability to design and implement distributed high available cloud services.
  • Experience with Agile Methodologies.
  • Strong desire to stay on top of new technologies and services.
