The Senior Traffic Engineer position is based in the Kansas City office and requires a candidate with at least 8 years of experience. The successful candidate will work on a variety of complex projects, collaborating with colleagues who are enthusiastic about design and engineering analysis. The Traffic Team is involved in projects that include design alternative analyses, engineering studies, traffic analyses, safety studies, travel demand modeling, and the design of traffic signals, signage, pavement markings, and lighting. The role emphasizes teamwork with colleagues in highway, bridge, stormwater, and utility design, striving for innovation and ingenuity to provide optimal outcomes for all transportation users. Key responsibilities include planning, conducting, and coordinating traffic engineering work, preparing reports, plans, and specifications for design projects, and monitoring multiple project schedules and budgets. The candidate will also be responsible for preparing and directing traffic analysis and studies, including safety studies, and completing design and plan preparation of traffic signal and interconnect drawings.
