About the position

The Senior Traffic Engineer/Transportation Planner will lead the growth of a transportation consulting practice in the Washington Metropolitan area, focusing on creating and implementing sustainable transportation solutions. This role offers significant growth potential and requires an entrepreneurial spirit to drive the practice forward.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced, specialized engineering/planning work requiring independent judgment
• Manage client relationships
• Prepare and manage proposals and budgets
• Coordinate and lead the work of junior staff on multi-faceted projects
• Train and mentor junior staff
• Prepare technical reports
• Perform QA/QC procedures
• Present information and/or findings to public agencies, review boards, governing bodies, and community groups

Requirements

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Planning, or equivalent experience
• P.E. License or AICP Certification
• 10+ years of experience in traffic engineering and/or transportation planning
• Proficiency with traffic analysis software (HCS, Synchro, VISSIM preferred)
