About the position

The Senior Traffic Project Manager at AtkinsRéalis will play a crucial role in leading transportation planning and design projects, particularly for IDOT and Illinois Tollway clients. This position requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and regulatory agencies. The role involves strategic planning, project management, and ensuring quality assurance across projects, all while contributing to the growth and profitability of the office.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize existing relationships with IDOT and Illinois Tollway to identify and pursue business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with public and private clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Promote design excellence and provide leadership and mentoring to the team.
  • Participate in strategic planning to maximize profitability and operational efficiencies.
  • Support other offices in the region to fulfill project needs and plan for future business.
  • Lead personnel by reviewing workload, resource planning, and project performance.
  • Assist project staff in developing work plans and reviewing schedules and budgets.
  • Oversee financial performance of projects and ensure remedial actions are taken to avoid losses.
  • Serve as a technical manager and provide oversight on projects.
  • Ensure QA/QC procedures are implemented.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience with transportation planning and design projects for IDOT and Illinois Tollway.
  • Illinois PE license is required.
  • 10+ years of experience in project production and technical professional activities.
  • 4+ years' experience as a Project Manager is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including public speaking and persuasive ability.
  • Strong financial management, team management, and leadership skills.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering.
