About the position
The Senior Transmission Line Engineer at Mott MacDonald will lead Transmission Engineering activities across North America, providing guidance to a team of engineers and designers. This role involves both project leadership and technical expertise, focusing on the design and review of overhead and underground transmission lines, while ensuring compliance with quality standards. The position emphasizes collaboration, continuous improvement, and mentorship within the engineering team.
Responsibilities
- Design overhead and underground lines by creating technical specifications, calculations, and drawings.
- Review design work completed by peers to ensure compliance with scope and QA/QC requirements.
- Plan, organize, estimate, schedule, coordinate, and monitor work activities with multi-discipline project team members.
- Provide engineering technical expertise and guidance in identifying, analyzing, and resolving problems.
- Mentor and provide guidance to developing engineers within the department.
- Continuously improve job-related engineering technical and professional knowledge, skills, and performance.
Requirements
- Significant knowledge of T&D Engineering with 5+ years' experience.
- A degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized accredited institution.
- Professional Registration (PE) required, or the ability to obtain a PE in 2 years is required.
- Experience working with OEMs, Contractors, and Consultants.
- Excellent communication skills.
