About the position

Anderson Perry (AP) is seeking a Senior Transportation Civil Engineer to expand our transportation engineering services across all office locations, including La Grande, Oregon; Walla Walla, Washington; Redmond, Oregon; and Hermiston, Oregon. In this full-time role, you will engage directly with clients to successfully deliver a variety of transportation projects. Our firm provides comprehensive transportation engineering services to Departments of Transportation (DOTs) and local public agencies, focusing on roadways, streets, sidewalks, pedestrian facilities, and small bridges and culverts. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy project development, project management, and client interaction, as well as those looking to enhance their project management skills as they advance in their careers. As a Senior Transportation Civil Engineer, you will oversee all aspects of one or more projects, which includes managing funding, scope, fee, and contract development. You will be involved in project planning, permitting, cost estimation, pre-design work, design, specifications, and the preparation of bidding documents. Additionally, you will provide construction support and ensure successful project closeout. Collaboration with senior firm management to identify project opportunities, assisting the marketing team in proposal development, making project assignments, and overseeing internal staff and various subconsultants will also be key responsibilities. You may have the opportunity to participate in hiring, training, and developing junior staff, contributing to the growth and success of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of one or more transportation projects including funding, scope, fee, and contract development.
  • Manage project planning, permitting, cost estimates, pre-design work, design, specifications, and bidding document preparation.
  • Provide construction support and ensure successful project closeout.
  • Work with senior firm management to develop project opportunities.
  • Assist the marketing team with developing proposals.
  • Make project assignments and oversee internal staff and various subconsultants.
  • Participate in hiring, training, and developing junior staff.

Requirements

  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Ability to obtain Oregon/Washington license within 1 year of employment.
  • 10+ years of transportation engineering experience.
