About The Position

As a treasury management professional at American Water, you will provide objective financial analyses and recommendations regarding capital structure and corporate financing strategies. You will be responsible for supporting all financing activities, including short- and long-term debt and equity for the organization. This role also involves supporting State Finance teams with regulatory documentation and compliance requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in financing, accounting, or economics required.
  • 4 - 9 years proven experience in a finance or treasury related position required.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of Bank Products/Services preferred.
  • Project management experience a plus.
  • Utilities industry experience a plus.
  • SAP & Treasury Workstation experience a plus.
  • Experience with cash forecasting and working capital management a plus.
  • Understanding of short-term and long-term debt issuance a plus.
  • Knowledge of tax-exempt financing a plus.
  • Bloomberg experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Take active role in debt and equity issuances, including issuing taxable and tax-exempt debt.
  • Prepare applications, petitions, and track debt rates and comparable debt deals.
  • Calculate all-in costs for senior management analysis and prepare various certificates.
  • Review debt legal documents and set up debt subledgers.
  • Provide analytical support for the Annual Budget process and period 'Refreshes'.
  • Run various reports out of Hyperion to support business planning process.
  • Prepare and provide monthly, quarterly, and annual Treasury Analysis reports.
  • Support compliance with AW SOX controls and other company policies.
  • Prepare documentation for Audit purposes and update existing procedures.
  • Partner with finance and regulatory to prepare capital structures for subsidiaries.
  • Compile and maintain documentation related to each debt financing.
  • Prepare and analyze the need for equity infusions and credit limit adjustments.
  • Compile and prepare necessary information for quarterly debt covenant compliance calculations.
