About the position

The Senior Trust Officer (STO) at Bank of America is responsible for managing a complex trust book while collaborating with local Private Bank teams to achieve strategic objectives. This role focuses on trust administration, business development, and deepening client relationships through estate and financial planning. The STO leads trust product sales and ensures adherence to fiduciary risks and trust policies, while also engaging with specialists within the Private Bank to meet client needs effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a trust book and manage fiduciary risks and trust policy adherence.
  • Work closely with local Private Bank teams to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Lead trust product sales and ensure product awareness among clients and associates.
  • Proactively identify and harvest opportunities to deepen relationships within the current client base.
  • Meet with key clients periodically to maintain relationships and identify new business opportunities.
  • Provide trust, estate, and wealth transfer planning advice to clients.
  • Engage with other specialists within the Private Bank to best meet client needs.
  • Oversee all trust administration activities and document interpretation.
  • Identify at-risk clients and proactively resolve issues to drive retention.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 5 years of trust administration and estate planning experience.
  • Fiduciary professional with CTFA, CFP, AEP, JD, or CPA (or 6 months away from obtaining certification).
  • Technical expertise in trust administration, fiduciary law, and estate and wealth transfer planning.
  • Proactive approach to problem solving and ability to provide creative solutions.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to connect with high net worth clients.

  • Knowledge of policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • High level of savvy regarding high net worth clients' concerns.
