About the position
The Senior UI/UX Designer at Research Solutions, Inc. will lead the design process from concept to delivery, focusing on creating user-centered designs that enhance the user experience. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, mentoring junior designers, and advocating for best practices in design while maintaining the brand's visual identity.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end design process, including user research, wireframing, prototyping, and high-fidelity design.
- Conduct user research, analyze user behavior, and gather insights to inform design decisions.
- Develop and maintain design systems, style guides, and reusable UI components to ensure design consistency across products.
- Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to deliver intuitive and delightful user experiences.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers, reviewing their work and helping them grow in their roles.
- Plan and conduct usability tests, iterate on designs based on user feedback, and continuously improve user interfaces.
- Build interactive prototypes that illustrate design concepts, transitions, and interactions.
- Keep up with the latest UI/UX trends, tools, and technologies, applying them to improve design processes and outcomes.
- Be the voice of the user, ensuring that all designs serve user needs while meeting business objectives.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in UI/UX design, with a strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design solutions.
- Expertise in industry-standard design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
- Understanding of basic front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to effectively communicate with developers.
- Excellent grasp of typography, color theory, and layout principles.
- Ability to analyze complex problems and design elegant, simple solutions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design decisions.
- Keen attention to detail, ensuring high-quality designs that align with brand standards and user needs.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with responsive and adaptive design principles.
- Previous experience with OOUX or similar frameworks.
- Experience with motion design or animation.
- Previous experience in a leadership role.
