The Senior UI/UX Product Designer will join the dynamic iHarbor Innovation Center team at the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS). This role is pivotal in shaping the user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design of various software and digital assets, including mobile applications. The designer will ensure that all elements of the user experience are crafted with exceptional visual and human-centered design principles, optimized for improved usability and usefulness. The position requires adherence to established design standards and best practices, ensuring that all technology assets reflect a cohesive and user-friendly design philosophy. In this role, the designer will demonstrate a passion for delivering adaptive and creative solutions to UI/UX product design challenges by leveraging industry best practices and emerging trends in user experience design and user interface technology. The Senior UI/UX Product Designer will report directly to the Manager of UI/UX Design and will be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, sales, and marketing, to create user-centric workflows tailored to diverse personas within the healthcare sector. The designer will synthesize and socialize requirements across the team to develop an overall product design strategy, providing critical design input to ensure its implementation across software and technology products. The role involves designing UI elements and tools such as navigation menus, search boxes, tabs, and widgets, ensuring that all designs adhere to established standards for a common and cohesive look and feel. The designer will also adopt experimental and data-driven approaches to inform design decisions, transforming ideas into tangible concepts, developing mocks, gathering stakeholder feedback, and delivering high-level designs for implementation by development teams. Additionally, the Senior UI/UX Product Designer will produce high-quality UX design solutions through wireframes, visual and graphic designs, flow diagrams, storyboards, site maps, and prototypes. They will prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders, illustrating design ideas using storyboards, process flows, and sitemaps. The designer will test UI elements, collaborate with technology and development teams, and partner with data science teams to ensure seamless integration of designs that meet business goals. Staying current with the latest UI/UX design trends and industry advancements is essential to continually enhance the performance of digital products, thriving in a fast-paced environment that drives continuous iteration and improvement.
