About the position

The Senior Underwriter & Team Leader - Real Estate at Siemens Financial Services Inc (SFS) is responsible for overseeing the analysis and execution of healthcare real estate transactions. This role involves leading a team of risk management underwriters, ensuring adherence to credit policies, and providing expert guidance on healthcare real estate matters. The position requires strong analytical skills, industry expertise, and the ability to mentor and develop team members while managing complex commercial loan transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct end-to-end new business analysis and execution of healthcare real estate transactions.
  • Review and approve new transactions using sound credit and structure analysis.
  • Serve as the primary risk management expert for healthcare real estate transactions.
  • Provide leadership and personnel management to a team of risk managers.
  • Ensure adherence to SFS Credit Policies and Guidelines in credit and structure analysis.
  • Develop risk team members professionally and promote a culture of lifelong learning.
  • Lead the deal packaging and submittal process by authoring and reviewing credit reports.
  • Analyze and interpret cash flow model data and projection assumptions.
  • Negotiate loan documents and terms with SFS borrowers.
  • Assist in the oversight of documentation, contracting, and funding processes.

Requirements

  • 10 years underwriting and portfolio management experience in commercial loan transactions.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in commercial real estate credit analysis and portfolio management.
  • Minimum 3 years of prior management or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of credit, audit, and portfolio management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience negotiating, underwriting, and closing commercial loans for acquisition and construction transactions.
  • Minimum 4-year college degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Accounting; MBA preferred.
  • Completed formal bank credit training program.
  • Ability to travel 15-20%.
