About the position
The Senior Universal Banker at Hancock Bank is responsible for acquiring, managing, and retaining client relationships through a consultative sales and service approach. This role focuses on understanding clients' financial needs and providing tailored solutions, while also educating clients on various banking services and technologies.
Responsibilities
- Manage existing clients and prospects by meeting with them in person and over the phone to build and maintain strong relationships.
- Proactively educate clients on alternate delivery methods and channels, including mobile, online, and ATM options.
- Refer clients to other business partners for specialized financial needs.
- Apply product and procedural knowledge to solve client problems efficiently.
- Process a variety of routine and complex transactions for Financial Center clients.
- Engage in client and/or prospect management activities and drive proactive sales conversations.
- Identify and act upon sales opportunities to build a strong pipeline of appointments.
- Leverage ecosystem partnerships and community centers of influence to acquire and retain relationships.
- Assist in managing the lobby by engaging, greeting, and directing client traffic.
- Support the Bank's risk management culture through awareness and sound decision-making.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 2 years of sales and client service experience in a professional environment; banking experience preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of applicable banking products and regulations.
- Proficiency in operating multiple banking systems and applications.
- National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) registration required under the SAFE Act of 2008.
- State Life & Health Insurance licenses preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a retail or financial institution with cash handling and customer service.
- Strong follow-up skills and ability to work in a team environment.
