About the position

The position involves planning, directing, and organizing the operational activities of a bank branch in accordance with established policies and procedures. The role includes supervising branch personnel, managing operational tasks, and ensuring compliance with security and operational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform primary job functions including teller and/or platform duties.
  • Assist with the supervision, training, and directing of branch personnel regarding all operational day-to-day activities.
  • Work with the Branch Sales Manager to conduct annual and quarterly reviews for all branch personnel.
  • Process daily EIM items (pay/return decisions) in collaboration with the Branch Sales Manager.
  • Review and authorize staff schedules, including approving overtime and paid leave.
  • Review accounts payable items (invoices) with the Branch Sales Manager for approval and forward to the Accounting Department for processing.
  • Implement the Branch Security Plan and train staff on opening/closing procedures and monitoring the branch's security system.
  • Report and monitor all technology issues at the branch location.
  • Ensure accurate processing and/or reporting of garnishments, tax levies, subpoenas, cash items, proof corrections, cash counts, CIP verifications, counterfeit currency reports, mail, night deposit logs, safe deposit boxes, collateral boxes, and balancing of negotiable instruments.
  • Complete all quarterly and annual operational training including disaster recovery and business continuity plans with Branch Operations Administration.
  • Resolve customer complaints within the branch with assistance from the Branch Sales Manager as needed.
  • Conduct branch audits and clear any exceptions under the guidance of Branch Operations Administration.
  • Train and cross-train personnel to avoid future exceptions.
  • Ensure branch personnel compliance with all policies and procedures related to Branch Operations, including record retention.
  • Approve requisitions for purchasing supplies for the branch under the guidance of the Branch Sales Manager.
  • Monitor and maintain property management by coordinating with the Facilities department regarding upkeep and needed repairs.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college with a concentration in accounting/finance preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • One to two years of retail banking experience or equivalent relevant experience required.
  • Minimum of six months to one year supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong personal leadership skills.
  • Organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and summarize financial information and present recommendations for appropriate courses of action.
