About the position

The Senior US International Reverse Flow Underwriter will provide underwriting support for incoming business from non-US producing countries, ensuring that US insurance risks are adequately priced and that policy terms meet customer needs. This role involves collaboration with producing underwriters and requires a strong understanding of US market practices and regulatory differences. The position is part of a significant $650M USD portfolio and involves working with dedicated underwriting assistants and international specialists.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with producing underwriters to gather inputs on overall structure, coverage needs, and submission data.
  • Ensure adherence to US underwriting standards and provide guidance on quote proposals and issuance for US exposure.
  • Support producing countries for primary and secondary lines of business, addressing seasonality of accounts.
  • Engage with US brokers as needed, providing insights and education on US coverage and rate trends.
  • Collaborate with underwriting assistants and international servicing specialists to support servicing and processing of local US policies.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5+ years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing area, or 10+ years in Claims or Underwriting Support area.
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 3+ years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing area, or 8+ years in Claims or Underwriting Support area.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience working under time constraints for quotes on new and renewal business.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
