The Marketing Product Team at Agoda is dedicated to creating compelling experiences for our customers. We aim to simplify travel booking and ensure that Agoda is the go-to platform for users. The team is highly data-driven, focusing on developing measurable marketing programs that enhance customer lifetime value. Given the infrequent nature of travel bookings, understanding user behavior and preferences is crucial. The role of research is vital in helping us comprehend how users make booking decisions and how we can position Agoda as their default choice. As a data-driven company, we expect insights to be translated into compelling data that informs our UX researchers, product managers, and analysts.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end planning, execution, analysis, and reporting of research projects.
  • Collaborate with UX designers and product managers to understand research needs and work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders.
  • Define research questions and select appropriate data collection methods to deliver stakeholder-relevant value.
  • Develop budgets and timelines for research projects.
  • Evaluate research opportunities and determine their importance, urgency, and impact on the team.
  • Conduct design research studies and analyze the data collected, generating insights that influence product strategy.
  • Recruit participants for research studies and manage through ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adopt and adapt well-established methods according to product/project situations, and innovate new methods that scale.
  • Collaborate with other insights functions to ensure the scope of work is informed by previous learnings.
  • Work with the data team to query and synthesize insights that support designers' or product managers' hypotheses.
  • Lead end-to-end research activities, including driving research objectives, hypotheses, methodology, execution, analysis, and communication.

Requirements

  • Bachelor/Master in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Science, Psychology, Social Science, or any related field.
  • 3-6 years of relevant experience in consumer-facing business domains.
  • Comfortable with planning, scoping, conducting, analyzing, and communicating research.
  • Experience with qualitative and user-centered design methods such as interviews, diary studies, and usability testing.
  • Experience with quantitative research including metrics, survey design, and statistical concepts.
  • Ability to describe user problems and business opportunities to various stakeholders using both quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking beyond business requests.
  • Strong storytelling and communication skills, fluent in English.
