About the position

The Senior User Studies Researcher will join the Intelligent System Experience (ISE) group to enhance user experience for Apple products including iPhone, iPad, and Mac. This role focuses on conducting human-centered research, analyzing user data, and advocating for users' needs to inform product design decisions. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to evolving project requirements while delivering high-quality insights.

Responsibilities

• Develop and conduct in-person and remote user studies on iOS, iPadOS, and macOS platforms.
• Extract insights about usability and overall user experience from qualitative and quantitative data.
• Present findings to engineering, design, QA, and product marketing teams to inform design decisions.
• Monitor ongoing user feedback and advocate for a diverse customer base.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in human-centered research, including designing and conducting user studies.
• Comfortable analyzing large amounts of qualitative and quantitative data.
• Ability to produce meaningful visualizations and summaries of data.
• Effectively present results to different audiences across multiple media formats.
• Convey results objectively without personal biases.
• Work independently and collaboratively with minimal direction.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and good time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Advanced degree in human factors, human-computer interaction, experimental psychology, data analytics, or related fields.
• Proficiency in data analysis and visualization software (e.g., Matlab, JMP, SPSS, Python, R, Tableau).
• Experience with spreadsheet and presentation software (e.g., Numbers, Excel, Keynote, Adobe Illustrator).
• Solid understanding of statistics.
• Fluency in one or more languages other than English.
• Experience working in industry.
