About the position

The Senior UX Designer for AI Assistants at Walmart will play a crucial role in shaping the future of AI-human interaction through thoughtful and empathetic design. This position involves crafting seamless user experiences across multiple touchpoints, collaborating with various stakeholders, and delivering high-quality design work in a fast-paced environment. The designer will contribute to best practices for AI assistant design frameworks and will be responsible for rapid prototyping and creating scalable experiences in partnership with the Design System team.

Responsibilities

  • Create seamless experiences that help users effectively engage with our AI assistant across multiple touchpoints.
  • Contribute to designing best practices for AI assistant design frameworks.
  • Collaborate with business partners, engineers, product managers, and researchers to create concepts and build rapid prototypes.
  • Champion a highly usable experience before delivering pixel-perfect designs.
  • Own activities and deliverables for projects and engagements.
  • Rapidly prototype and experiment in a fast-paced environment.
  • Create scalable experiences in partnership with the Design System team.
  • Efficiently organize and adapt to changing priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in UI/UX design, graphic design, visual communication, product design, computer science, information technology, or related area and 5 years' experience in UI/UX, interactive and visual design, electronics art, multimedia design, or related area.
  • 4 years' experience in UI/UX, interactive and visual design, electronics art, multimedia design, or related area if no degree is held.
  • A fantastic portfolio showcasing design work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interest or experience in AI or e-commerce domains.

Nice-to-haves

  • Design certification (e.g., IDEOU - Foundations in Design Thinking Certificate).
  • Master's degree in UI/UX Design, Interactive and Visual Design, Product Design, or related area.
  • Experience in driving product development in a user experience area.
  • Related industry experience (e.g., retail, supply chain, eCommerce, healthcare).
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices and experience implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards.
