About the position

The Senior UX Designer for Amazon Prime will lead the design of the Prime UX design system, focusing on creating reusable UX/UI components and layouts that enhance the customer experience. This role involves collaboration with various teams to deliver cohesive and on-brand customer experiences for Prime members globally. The designer will be responsible for driving design projects, utilizing research and analytics to inform decisions, and advocating for design within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Design beautiful, useful, and delightful components, patterns, and layouts for Prime customers.
• Consider market analysis, customer feedback, and usability findings in design solutions.
• Use business requirements, user and market research to develop scenarios, use cases, and high-level requirements.
• Design the UI architecture, interface, and interaction flows based on Prime's customer journeys.
• Develop conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups, click-throughs, and prototypes.
• Maintain detailed user-interface specifications and design system documentation.
• Work with program managers to plan projects for effective delivery while maintaining high design standards.
• Partner with front-end engineering and content tooling teams for scalable implementation of customer experiences using the design system.
• Communicate design rationales and benefits effectively to non-design audiences.
• Use analytics and data to drive design decision making.
• Create and maintain processes for scaling, updating, managing, and evangelizing a design system.
• Build high-quality, functional prototypes and demos to convey the vision of future Prime products and features.
• Collaborate with Amazon-wide stakeholders to design, build, and maintain the central Prime Design System Library.
• Drive concepts from ideation to implementation alongside designers, product managers, and engineers.
• Advance design thinking by leveraging technical expertise and supporting the team.
• Thrive in a fast-paced, iterative environment.

Requirements

• 6+ years of design experience.
• An available online portfolio.
• Experience with design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• Prototyping experience in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and Ajax.

• Experience applying scrum to visual or UX design processes.
• Experience with UX design of complex workflows.
