About the position

The Senior UX Designer will lead the UX design for Amazon Prime's design system, focusing on creating a library of reusable UX/UI components, patterns, and layouts. This role involves collaboration with UX designers, engineers, product owners, and marketers to enhance the customer experience for Prime members globally. The designer will be responsible for developing user interface specifications, prototypes, and ensuring the design system is effectively implemented across various teams.

Responsibilities

• Design beautiful, useful, and delightful components, patterns, and layouts for Prime customers.
• Consider market analysis, customer feedback, and usability findings in design solutions.
• Use business requirements, user and market research to develop scenarios, use cases, and high-level requirements.
• Design the UI architecture, interface, and interaction flows based on Prime's customer journeys.
• Develop conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups, click-throughs, and prototypes.
• Maintain detailed user-interface specifications and design system documentation.
• Plan projects for effective delivery while maintaining high design standards with program managers.
• Partner with front-end engineering and content tooling teams for scalable implementation of customer experiences using the design system.
• Advocate for design with non-design audiences and communicate design rationales effectively.
• Use analytics and data to drive design decision making.
• Create and maintain processes for scaling, updating, managing, and evangelizing a design system.

Requirements

• 6+ years of design experience.
• An available online portfolio.
• Experience with design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• Prototyping experience in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and Ajax.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience applying scrum to visual or UX design processes.
• Experience with UX design of complex workflows.
