About the position

As a Senior UX Designer at Walmart, you will execute design projects at an exemplary level and ensure the highest quality of craft in the creation of user interfaces and experiences. You will tailor designs to meet the diverse needs of Walmart Advertisers while considering inclusivity and accessibility. Collaboration with cross-functional partners, including product managers, developers, and business stakeholders, is essential to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes. You will develop and articulate the experience strategy for the program, aligning it with both user needs and overarching business goals. Setting the design direction and ensuring that the user experience is cohesive, engaging, and aligned with Walmart's brand identity is a key responsibility. You will actively seek feedback from peers and stakeholders at various stages of the product design lifecycle, embracing a culture of continuous improvement by incorporating feedback into design iterations. Additionally, you will collaborate with the design research team to gather valuable insights and ensure that user research findings inform and validate design decisions, contributing to user-centric solutions. In this fast-paced environment, you will rapidly prototype and experiment with design concepts, iterating quickly based on learnings from user testing. You will juggle and prioritize tasks effectively across different projects, maintaining a balance between various design initiatives while ensuring high-quality outcomes. Creating scalable and modular experiences and collaborating closely with the design system team will be part of your role. Advocating for the Design Thinking philosophy throughout the business and fostering a user-centric and iterative approach to problem-solving is essential. You will ensure that complex design ideas are conveyed clearly to various stakeholders and stay abreast of the latest design trends both within and outside the retail industry. This position does not supervise employees.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or equivalent in UI/UX Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Product Design, Computer Science, Information Technology, Digital Arts, or related area and 1 year of experience; OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 3 years of experience.
  • Experience participating in user interviews, surveys, and usability testing.
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting data to inform design decisions.
  • Experience developing site maps, user flows, and wireframes.
  • Experience working with content designers to create user-friendly experiences.
  • Experience creating interactive prototypes and animations in Figma.
  • Experience with front-end development.
  • Experience applying principles of visual design.
  • Experience creating high, mid, and low fidelity mockups in Figma.
  • Experience structuring and organizing information.
  • Experience implementing a user-centered design approach.
  • Experience ensuring designs are inclusive and accessible.
