About the position

As a Senior UX Designer at Genuine Parts Company, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience for our eCommerce and mobile products. This position is designed for a highly skilled individual who is passionate about creating user-centered digital experiences that not only meet user needs but also exceed their expectations. You will collaborate closely with product managers, software engineers, and other designers to bring your innovative designs to life, ensuring that our products are not only visually appealing but also functional and user-friendly. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting user research to gain insights into the needs and pain points of our target audience. You will translate these insights into compelling user experiences, creating user flows, storyboards, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and prototypes using design software such as Figma. Your familiarity with and contributions to our design system will be crucial as you work to maintain consistency across our products. You will also be expected to communicate your design decisions clearly and effectively, presenting your designs to stakeholders and gathering valuable feedback. Participating in user testing will be an essential part of your role, allowing you to validate and refine your designs based on real user interactions. Staying current with design trends and technology advancements will help you bring fresh ideas to the team and ensure that our products remain competitive in the market. This position offers a flexible work policy, allowing you to work in a hybrid remote schedule, with options to work from our Duluth or Atlanta office. You will be part of a dynamic team that values collaboration and innovation, contributing to the success of the world's largest automotive and industrial replacement parts distribution company.

Responsibilities

  • Work with user research to understand the needs and pain points of our target audience.
  • Translate user needs and business requirements into compelling experiences.
  • Collaborate with product, software engineering, and other designers.
  • Create user flows and storyboards to demonstrate the user experience.
  • Create wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and prototypes using design software (Figma).
  • Be deeply familiar with and contribute to the design system.
  • Demonstrate the ability to clearly communicate design decisions.
  • Present designs and gather feedback from stakeholders.
  • Participate in user testing to validate and improve designs.
  • Stay up to date with current design trends and technology advancements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or bootcamp) in UX Design, HCI, HCD, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum 2 years' work experience in UX design.
  • Understanding and application of User-Centered Design (UCD), Information Architecture (IA), Interaction Design, Usability Testing, Accessibility, and core concepts of User Psychology.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing design skills and process.
  • Proficient in design software such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and InVision.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • A passion for creating user-centered digital experiences.
  • Experience working in an agile software development environment.
  • Experience working with enterprise software.
  • Experience in design for eCommerce, retail, and/or supply chain.
